THE TECHNIQUES OF SWIMMING CHAMPIONS: A 10-HOUR WORKSHOP

red line

The computer analyses of world champions (1991) and Olympic champions (1992) are analyzed. Since several swimmers of each stroke are presented it is possible to compare movement economies and to generalize trends in effective stroke features. Participants should emerge from the workshop with a good understanding of efficient techniques so that appropriate stroke instruction content can be used.

The technical manual Biomechanical analyses of champions swimmers by Jane M. Cappaert and Brent S. Rushall (1994) serves as the major resource for instruction.
