A revised version of the Participation Motivation Questionnaire was administered to 62 females and 38 males in six age groups (6-9, 10-14, 15-22, 23-39, 40-59, 60-74) at YMCAs in Oregon.

The study was flawed because of the small group numbers, convenient sampling, and restrictive nature of the evaluation tool. This investigation yields no more than one piece of information that is sample dependent.
