ANDRO EFFECTS REMAIN IN THE BLOOD FOR MORE THAN 72 HOURS

McGregor, S. J., Tsivitse, S. K., McLoughlin, T. J., & Pizza, F. X. (2001). Serum androgen levels are elevated after topical application of 4-androstenediol. Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, 33(5), Supplement abstract 1900.

This study determined if a single topical application of 4-androstenediol (ANDRO) would produce elevated androgen levels. Healthy males were administered ANDRO or a placebo at the same time of day on two occasions, one week apart. Resting blood levels were taken immediately before and 1, 2, 3, 10, 24, 48, and 72 hours after applications. Free and total testosterone were assayed as the effects.

It was found that a residual effect of ANDRO still existed 72 hours after application.

Implication. ANDRO effects remain in the blood for 72+ hours.
