TENNIS PLAYERS OF BOTH GENDERS HAVE SIMILAR COMPETITIVENESS

The trait competitiveness of male (N = 15) and female (N = 19) elite high school tennis players was compared on the Sports Competition Trait Inventory (SCTI).

It was found there were no gender difference in competitiveness, which is contrary to published research that reports males being more competitive than females.

Implication. There are no gender differences in competitiveness in high school tennis players.
