CORDYCEPS SINENSIS IS USELESS FOR ENDURANCE ATHLETES

Cordyceps sinensis (CS) is supposed to improve oxidative capacity and endurance performance. Male competitive cyclists (N = 35) were supplemented for six weeks with CS according to manufacturer guidelines. A VO2max test and time trial were used to assess effects.

There was no effect on aerobic capacity or endurance exercise performance in the Ss.

Implication. Cordyceps sinensis doe not improve endurance performance.
