Bowdoin, B. A., Thomas, D. Q., Brown, D. D., & McCraw, S. T. (1997). The effects of a nasal dilator on anaerobic exercise performance. Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, 29(5), Supplement abstract 1612.

Ss (N = 15) performed the Wingate anaerobic test under six randomly assigned conditions: C control; BR Breathe Right nasal strip; P placebo nasal strip; M mouth guard; BRM Breathe Right nasal strip and mouth guard; and PM placebo and mouth guard. There was no significant difference between any condition or interaction.

Implication. Neither a Breathe Right nasal strip nor mouth guard significantly impacts anaerobic performance.
