With two-hour training sessions, when some elite swimmers graduate to being able to handle these twice daily, it seems that the carbohydrate-glycogen story for each individual is of critical importance. I would hazard a guess that 90% of hard training swimmers are chronically depleted of muscle fiber glycogen.
