ICE HOCKEY PLAYERS IMPROVE SKATING POWER THROUGHOUT A SEASON

Male collegiate ice hockey players (N = 10) were measured seven times (2-3 week intervals) during a six-month competitive season. It was found that skating power increased, with no change in recovery heart rate or recovery lactate, continually throughout the season and there was no evidence of chronic fatigue.

Implication. Ice hockey players improve in skating power throughout a season.
